Board Positions
The CPA has several open Board positions for the 2024-2025 school year, and we’d love you join us! The Board guides fundraising efforts, allocates funds, plans and hosts events and programs, and helps foster the school community. It’s a great way to meet other Columbia families while making a positive impact on Columbia students and the broader community!
MEETINGS
The Board meets monthly during the school year, typically the third Thursday of each month from 6:00-7:00pm. Board members should also attend the General Meetings as well.

Open Positions
Co-President
The President helps set the goals and direction for the CPA by working closely with the principal and administrative staff to ensure CPA goals are in line with the school’s. The President oversees and coordinates with the Board to schedule board meetings, general meetings, fundraisers and other events.
Secretary
The Secretary attends the Board and General PTO meetings, taking minutes which summarize Board discussions and documents decisions. The Secretary is also responsible for distributing meeting minutes to Board members, and organizing records in the CPA Google Drive.
Volunteer Coordinator
Help coordinate volunteers for events throughout the school year. Assist communication efforts with room reps and work closely with our school administration to verify volunteer paperwork through the school district.
Committee Positions
Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising committee coordinates and oversees all fundraising efforts for the CPA by identifying opportunities, soliciting sponsorships and donations, coordinating volunteers and promoting events and fundraisers.
Craft Night Committee
Brainstorm fun crafts for a night of family fun and crafting!
Garden Committee
Assist Common Threads with garden classes, cafeteria composting, Harvest of the Month, classroom cooking, and/or garden care.
Yearbook Committee
Design yearbook pages and coordinate printing and distributing. Also, take pictures at a wide variety of school functions for the yearbook.
Coho Gear Committee
Organize the design and promote / sell Columbia T-shirts and sweatshirts. Work with our local screen printer to design, order and fulfill Coho gear. Help reach out to sponsors and coordinate printing the of our MOVE-A-THON shirts for every student.
Dance Committee
Book dinner, DJ, and photo booth, decorate dance floor, and clean up at this family celebration.
Move-A-Thon Committee
Our biggest fundraiser of the year!! Set up or take down equipment, track students’ laps, distribute popsicles or run with your kids and cheer them on.
Staff Appreciation
Help organize staff appreciation week in May or bring in a dish for a staff lunch.
Science and Engineering Fair Committee
Promote event, encourage sign-up, organize display space, and ask students about their science projects.
Community Building Committee
This committee will coordinate Family Fun events that will build and strengthen our community by maintaining traditions and making memories, (movie night, kid night out, BINGO and more)!
Talent Show Committee
Assist in the tryouts, rehearsal, and night of performances.
5th Grade Celebration
Coordinate with 5th grade teachers to plan and organize the event. Location, food, etc.
